Journey to the Center of the Earth Hints
How do the scales work?
The scales are very simple in design. There are 2 trays (one on either side), a center lever, an indicator window (showing the number 1 when you start) and 3 triangle-shaped lights (providing the results of each weighing). Below the scales themselves sit 12 numbered balls on a larger dish.
Left-click on a ball to pick it up, and click it on one of the trays in an empty spot to put it there.
To remove a ball from a tray, left-click it and find an empty spot on the bottom dish below the scale. (Finding an empty spot can sometimes be annoying. Remember how they were arranged originally -- in an upside down triangular pattern. Just keep clicking until you find a spot that will "take".)
In between each weighing, the scales must be reset by clicking on the center lever once.
After the 3rd weighing you are expected to choose the "odd" one. Click on your choice and it will go into inventory. (If you click on the center lever again at this point without choosing a ball, the existing balls will be scrapped and a new set of balls -with a new "odd" one- will be dumped onto the bottom dish.)
