Journey to the Center of the Earth Hints
The Left side is heavy now. Which is the unique ball?
1 of 4: If the LEFT tray is heavy after the 2nd weighing, the weight shifted sides. 3, 6 and 9 are now Light. Heavy ones are 1, 2, and 5.
2 of 4: Your answer is in the balls you swapped from side to side, since 9 was valued equal earlier.
3 of 4: The odd ball is either 3 or 5 depending upon how the trays tip on the 3rd weighing.
4 of 4: If both 3 & 9 are EQUAL, the answer is 5 (the one not weighed).
If 3 or 9 are UNBALANCED, the answer is 3 (because 9 was always okay).
