Karma: Curse of the 12 Caves Hints

The Coded Portal

  • 1 of 12: Use the Help to refresh your memory on the use of an abacus.
  • 2 of 12: Note the position of the six Buddhas, and the direction each is facing.
  • 3 of 12: It is not always easy to determine the "face" of each Buddha; start with the two facing directly right and left.
  • 4 of 12: Do you see any other distinctions between the six sides of the octagon that contain an abacus?
  • 5 of 12: Note the dots toward the center of each of these six segments, immediately around the Yin-Yang symbol.
  • 6 of 12: Perhaps the dots represent numbers?
  • 7 of 12: Perhaps those numbers are related to the six abaci?
  • 8 of 12: But not to the abacus to which they are adjacent.
  • 9 of 12: What would relate the number of dots to its appropriate abacus?
  • 10 of 12: Try imagining each Buddha sitting in the center of the octagon; which segment would he be facing?
  • 11 of 12: Now imagine a new relationship between which dots belong to which abacus.
  • 12 of 12: If you imagine each Buddha sitting in the center of the octagon, the number of dots immediately in front of him is the number to which to set his abacus.
