What is the step-by-step solution?
1 of 13: The balconies -- and associated levers -- are labeled as mentioned earlier: balcony 1 is at the top left; 2 is at the top right; 3 is on the bottom left; 4 is on the bottom right. The stairs/walkway position is noted by stating which balconies it connects for example, a walkway spanning between the top left (1) and top right (2) balconies would be labeled: 1, 2.
2 of 13: There does not appear to be a way to reset this puzzle. This solution assumes that Lydia is still on balcony 3 where she first entered the room; and that Zak is on balcony 2 where he first entered.
3 of 13: If you haven't already, start by having Lydia pull the lever by the balcony where she first entered (3). This moves the stairs from 1, 4 to 1, 2.
4 of 13: Switch to Zak -- to do this have Lydia click on the lever close to her and select the second option. Move Zak across the walkway from balcony 2 to balcony 1.
5 of 13: Have Zak activate the switch on balcony 1. This will change the walkway from 1, 2 to 3, 2.
6 of 13: At this point, Lydia will have access to the stairs. Change from Zak to Lydia and walk Lydia up to balcony 2.
7 of 13: Switch back to Zak. Have Zak move the lever on balcony 1. This will change the walkway from 3, 2 to 1, 2.
8 of 13: Switch to Lydia. Have Lydia move her lever (on balcony 2). This will change the walkway from 1, 2 to 1, 4.
9 of 13: This will give Zak access to the walkway in a new position. Change from Lydia to Zak and walk him down the stairs to balcony 4 (the final destination balcony).
10 of 13: Have Zak move the lever next to the stairs on balcony 4. This will move the walkway from 1, 4 to 3, 4.
11 of 13: Once again, have Zak move the lever on balcony 4. This will move the walkway from 3, 4 to 3, 2.
12 of 13: Change to Lydia and walk her down the stairs from balcony 2 to balcony 3.
13 of 13: Switch back to Zak and have Zak move the lever on balcony 4 once more. This will move the walkway from 3, 2 to 3, 4. At this point, Lydia will be able to walk over the bridge to the destination balcony.
