Keepsake Hints
What do I need to do in the library?
of 17: You won't be able to do anything until you pick up an object from the library.
of 17: Look for a sphere near the stairs (by the railing on the side opposite from where Lydia climbed up). Once you have it, look around the library for a place to use it.
of 17: Pay particular attention to the walls -- there are small wooden panels that can be opened at various locations around the room.
of 17: When Lydia clicks on a panel it will open, revealing a small round indentation.
of 17: Have you tried to place the sphere into one of the indentations? Does anything happen when you do? If nothing happens, try to think through why.
of 17: Notice that some walls have one wooden panel, some walls have two.
of 17: If you use the sphere on a wall with only one panel, then a secret doorway will open.
of 17: Nothing seems to happen when you place a single sphere on a wall with two wooden panels.
of 17: There are two doors that can be opened with only one sphere. One is directly in front of the stairs (Lydia would've been looking at it when she climbed up the stairs). The other is to the right from the front of the stairs (it would be on Lydia's right if she had just climbed the stairs).
of 17: To find a second sphere, open the door to the right of the stairs. The sphere will be on a pedestal in the middle of the room.
of 17: A second sphere can open up new possibilities for Lydia.
of 17: Now that you have two spheres you can use, you will now be able to open doorways in some of the walls that have two wooden panels in them.
of 17: You'll need to go back to the main room, where you first entered the library. Be sure to remove the sphere you already placed behind the wooden panel, then take both spheres to one of the walls in this room that has two wooden panels
of 17: If you go to the wall to the left of the stairs and place both the spheres behind those wooden panels, a new doorway will open. Look inside this room for another helpful item.
of 17: Take the third sphere inside. Also, look around this inner room (or, if you like, one of the other inner rooms).
of 17: Each of the inner rooms also has wooden panels on the walls. If you have at least three spheres, you can access all the other rooms.
of 17: The only other thing left to do in the library is to explore all the other rooms and look at the tapestries. To learn if you still have not looked at all the tapestries, you can open the documents folder and check in the third column. If you haven't yet looked at a tapestry, it will be visible in the inventory, but not brightly colored. The order of the tapestries in your inventory (from top to bottom) is the same as the order of the tapestries listed here.
