Using the Inventory
The inventory screen can be opened up by clicking on the green plus sign, then choosing the picture of the backpack (the top picture). This will allow you to see which items you have already found -- and may give a clue as to which items are still needed. It is not necessary, however, to open the inventory screen when you are ready to use an object at a puzzle. Normally, the game knows what item is needed and will automatically "use" it when you have the item in inventory and you click on the puzzle that requires it.
Documents are stored in a separate location. To see documents you have picked up in your journey, click on the magnifying glass (located just under the backpack picture). When you wish to look closer at a document you have picked up, start by clicking on the document. When it is displayed in a separate window, click on the purple circle to see a close-up of the document. The blue arrow will change the page in the close-up view, when two or more pages were picked up together. To put the document away, use the blue arrows (to go back to page one), then the red "minus" symbol (to close the first close-up window), and finally the blue arrow (to close the second close-up window).
