Keepsake Hints
Where is the secret way out of the basement?
1 of 10: If you haven't already, you'll need to find the basement first.
2 of 10: The layout of the basement is not complicated, but it can be tricky to maneuver because of the changes in "camera angle". If you've already tried exploring, you may have found yourself going around in circles. Because of the difficulties in trying to describe the layout of the basement, the location of the secret way out will be described from the entrance to the basement.
3 of 10: In the location where you first descended into the basement from the garden, there are two exits from this area (besides going back up the stairs).
4 of 10: Move away from the stairs, towards the top of the screen, then in the next location proceed down the next set of stairs as well.
5 of 10: Once Lydia is at the bottom of the previously mentioned flight of stairs, you should see a new flight of stairs. Go down these stairs as well.
6 of 10: Move forward, to the next screen, so that you clearly see two archways ahead -- but you won't need to move in the direction of the archways at this time.
7 of 10: Move Lydia to the bottom left of the screen, not far from the stairs you had just descended on. On the next screen you should see yet another set of stairs. Move down these stairs also.
8 of 10: Once down this flight of stairs, there is only one other exit from the area -- moving opposite from the stairs you just descended.
9 of 10: In the next location there is only one new exit -- at the lower right of the screen.
10 of 10: The next screen has two new exits. Lydia will need to walk to the upper right of the screen. When she enters the new location, the secret exit from the basement will be obvious.
