The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints
Stendarr's Mercy
of 13: Talk to Sir Casimir's spirit in the Priory Undercroft about the gauntlets he lost while on the "Priory of the Nine" quest.
of 13: Travel to Chorrol and enter the Chapel of Stendarr.
of 13: The Gauntlets of the Crusader are on the floor near the NW corner of the chapel, surrounded by flowers and candles.
of 13: Try to pick them up to learn that they're too heavy to move.
of 13: Find Areldur nearby and talk to him about the gauntlets to learn of Kellen, a descendant of Sir Casimir's who shares his ancestor's curse of weakness.
of 13: To find Kellen, enter the Chapel Hall and check the west bedroom.
of 13: NOTE: Remember that Chapel Halls are all legal for you to be in now, so take advantage of that and loot this one while you're there.
of 13: Talk to Kellen about the curse and Areldur, then return to Areldur.
of 13: Get his disposition up to 70 or more and then ask about Kellen to learn that there is a way to transfer his curse to another person.
of 13: He says to pray at the altar for the power to do this, so click on the big Altar of the Nine and choose to do so.
of 13: You'll get a new lesser power called Lay Hands.
of 13: Go use it on Kellen (cast it like a spell) to cure him and get a Curse of the Consumed effect put on you. Fortunately, it only damages your fatigue by 5 points, and it will be removed in a future quest.
of 13: And now you can return to the main chapel area and pick up the Gauntlets of the Crusader!
