The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints
Umaril the Unfeathered
of 18: When you're ready, travel to Garlas Malatar, which is way over on the coast a ways NW of Anvil.
of 18: When you arrive, you'll find your knights gathered at the east end of the bridge that leads to the ruins' entrance.
of 18: If not all of your knights are there yet, wait an hour or more to get the rest to show up.
of 18: When everyone's present and accounted for, talk to any one of them and tell him to launch the attack.
of 18: All of the knights will run over to the ruins and enter them after killing the two aurorans stationed outside.
of 18: You should follow them and provide support services, especially in the way of healing. (Remember that you get a great spell for healing others when you wear the Gauntlets of the Crusader.) Be careful not to accidentally hit any of your knights, or they'll immediately turn on you.
of 18: After the first big room is cleared, the knights will cluster around three closed gates.
of 18: It's very hard to keep all your knights alive even if you're not playing on the highest difficulty, but do your best to stick with them and rapidly heal them when they need it. Treasure-hunting can wait until the region is cleared of enemy presence.
of 18: After the main Garlas Malatar area is cleared, the surviving knights will run through the door in the NE corner and stand around near some more closed gates in the Ceysel region.
of 18: You can then carefully loot your way through the main Malatar area and heal all of your knights back to full health. (Watch out for leftover aurorans if you do the looting part.)
of 18: When that's done, use the push block on the wall between the two gates to open them up and get the knights going again.
of 18: Unfortunately, the next area features aurorans who keep coming back to life after they're killed.
of 18: After his body is killed, loot the room of treasure (including two Varla stones on pedestals) and then cast the Blessing of Talos lesser power.
of 18: Wait until you're taken to the spirit plane, then fight Umaril's spirit until it dies. (Thankfully, his spirit will be weak even if you didn't weaken his body as described in the above combat tips.)
