The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints

Jail Notes

  • 1 of 7: There are two pairs of wrist irons on the table next to the Jailor's Letter. Those are great to enchant since they weigh nothing at all and don't interfere with spell effectiveness when you wear them.
  • 2 of 7: There are also a couple of repair hammers on the floor near the table.
  • 3 of 7: In the jail cell is a Morag Tong assassin that the Drothmeri managed to capture before he could execute his writ.
  • 4 of 7: If you can pick the lock on his door, you can then either kill him for his Morag Tong-brand magic light armor set, or you can just wait until he notices the open door and sneaks out.
  • 5 of 7: If you let him sneak away, he'll make his way to the Commander's Quarters in the Sundercliff Commune area and try to kill the commander, since that's whom his writ is for.
  • 6 of 7: NOTE: He moves very slowly, so if you head to the commune right after freeing him, you may have to wait a bit for him to get to the Commander's Quarters.
  • 7 of 7: If he fails, you can get his armor from his body when you reach the Commander's Quarters. If he succeeds, you can find him later on standing around just outside the Inn of Ill Omen (location 52 on the Great Forest map in the main Oblivion hint file) and kill him for his armor then.
