Artifact Detector
1 of 2: What it does: Adds an arrow pointing you to any treasure chests you haven't yet found. How to unlock: Find and mail the parcel in Opening the Ark. Cost: 250,000
Comment: The arrows are red when you're a long way away, white when you're close, and green when you're looking right at it (or where it's going to show up when you do whatever makes it appear). If you're too far away, there's no arrow at all.
2 of 2: Strangely, this isn't always as much help as you might think. "Close" means nearby on the game's internal map, which isn't necessarily easy for your character to get to. And sometimes the arrows continue to show up even after you've collected the chest. Still, it's useful when a chest is completely hidden from sight, as with Chest 7 in City of Danger.
