LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
How can I open the door with a Stormtrooper's picture on it?
1 of 6: As the game may tell you when you first encounter one of those doors, only Stormtroopers can access those areas.
2 of 6: Or maybe it would be more accurate to say that only people who look like Stormtroopers can access those areas.
3 of 6: Notice that there's a helmet dispenser just to the left of the first one of these doors that you'll encounter.
4 of 6: Most of the non-droid characters can pull the switch on that dispenser, and they'll then be given a helmet that makes them look like a Stormtrooper. You can then walk over to the door, stand on the white circle on the ground in front of the lock, and when you press the "use" button, trick your way through the door.
5 of 6: That character will keep wearing the helmet until they get shot. (Even turning on the invincibility extra that you can buy doesn't prevent helmet loss.) So while it's not a problem here, in the future, you may need to first shoot any real Stormtroopers in the area before you'll be able to get back to the nearest door with your helmet intact.
6 of 6: Once nice benefit of keeping your helmet on is that Stormtroopers may not notice you as long as at least one character is wearing a helmet. This isn't always foolproof -- and shooting anything, as you might need to do to get enough studs to get you True Jedi -- will almost certainly blow your cover. But sometimes, sneaking around with a helmet may be a quicker path to the end of the level if you need one.
