LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints

Canisters

  • 1 of 23: Most of these canisters can be found only in Free Play.  I will indicate specifically where canisters may also be available in Story mode.
  • 2 of 23: 1) At the very start of the level, you should see a canister hovering over a tree on your right.
  • 3 of 23: 2) You should see a crate in the middle of a lake very near the start of the level.  Shoot it to reveal the canister.
  • 4 of 23: 3) On the screen just after that lake, where you met Yoda in Story mode.  You'll be able to explore this section a bit more in Free Play mode.
  • 5 of 23: You can use the Force to open a doorway into Yoda's hut and then go inside.
  • 6 of 23: Look on the left side for a device on the wall that can be destroyed with the Dark Force.  Do so, and find a canister hidden behind here.
  • 7 of 23: 4) Another canister is off to the right of the hut.
  • 8 of 23: 5 -- Also in Story) In the first screen where Yoda is training you, look for the three dome-shaped covers on the ground.
  • 9 of 23: Lightsaber each of these open.  It may take several hits to do this.  When you've gotten all three open, a canister will appear near the end of this screen.
  • 10 of 23: 6) After you raise R2-D2 up to a control panel in this same general area, on the next screen, R2-D2 then needs to activate controls on a crate to raise a bridge across the lake.  Look near here.
  • 11 of 23: There's a grappling circle just past this crate.  Grapple here to get up to the canister on the upper level.
  • 12 of 23: 7) When you first reach the area where you need to jump on buttons floating in the air, look to the right.  There are several bridge pieces that you can build with the Dark Force -- one near you, and one once you step onto that first piece of bridge.
  • 13 of 23: Go all the way across the bridge, and you will be in an area with a shiny metal crate.
  • 14 of 23: A bounty hunter's detonator will blow up the canister and reveal pieces for a grappling circle.  Build that circle to reach up to the area with the canister.
  • 15 of 23: 8) About halfway down this floating platform area, you should notice a canister suspended in a hanging cage.
  • 16 of 23: Climb up the ramp on the left side of the screen, just past that cage, and then point back towards the front of the screen to shoot that cage with blasters.  The canister will fall down to the ground, where you can pick it up.
  • 17 of 23: 9) After getting past this section, turn to the right to find some shiny metal objects.
  • 18 of 23: Throw a thermal detonator at this, and then jump over the platforms to get the canister on the far side.
  • 19 of 23: Some of the platforms will start to collapse when you stand on them, and if you're not quick, you can die.  I found that using R2-D2 to float made this bit a little less fatal, which might help if you need the extra studs for True Jedi status.
  • 20 of 23: 10) On the screen after you defeat the fake Vader, look to your right for a pair of access hatches.
  • 21 of 23: Get a small character to go through the hatches, and then float as R2-D2 over to the left to find a switch.
  • 22 of 23: Pull the switch, and you can assemble a grappling circle back on the ground.
  • 23 of 23: Use that circle to get up to another platform up here, where a double-jump will take you to the canister.
