LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
Where am I supposed to go on this first screen?
of 8: Since there's a TIE Fighter door on the left side of the screen -- and that's only something that you can open in Free Play mode -- you'll want to head to the back of the right half of the screen.
of 8: If you fly all the way back there, you'll notice that the path down is blocked.
of 8: And just shooting it isn't going to do anything.
of 8: But you will still need to look for a way that your snowspeeder can destroy that door.
of 8: On the front side of this area -- much closer to where you entered -- is a dispenser with red flashing lights that provides rollermines.
of 8: Your snowspeeder can grab any of these mines with its grappling cable. Just get close to the mine and press the appropriate key for your system -- the same one that you use for a blaster's grappling cable -- to pick it up. You'll now be towing the mine behind your ship, and you can press the same button if you want to release the mine.
of 8: There will be a few obstacles between the dispenser and the gate, so you may have to take a few passes at this. Some of those obstacles -- like the gray stacks of bricks or even the AT-STs running around here -- can be shot with your regular guns. If a mine hits them, they'll also be destroyed, but the mine will be lost in the process, so you may want to shoot as many as you can and save the extra trip back to the dispenser. (You can always go back to get a new mine from the dispenser once yours is gone.)
of 8: The white walls can only be destroyed with the mines, so you can either try to clear a path by knocking out each wall with mines, one at a time, or you can just try to drive around the walls until you reach the far end of the screen. It really doesn't matter which way you go. You'll pick up a few extra studs with each white wall you destroy, but it's up to you.
