LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
What are these 16 cannons I'm supposed to shoot at the start?
1 of 6: There are 4 large destroyers on this first screen -- each with 4 cannons on their decks. You'll need to shoot all of these cannons before you can proceed to the next part of the level.
2 of 6: The main trick here is just staying alive. You don't really need to destroy any of the smaller TIE Fighters that come after you, but you will get some extra hearts for doing so.
3 of 6: Also, the game sometimes auto-aims for you, and it may decide to hit a TIE Fighter instead of a cannon. So clearing out the little fighters as best as you can may make it easier to get the cannons.
4 of 6: One other thing that I found made shooting the cannons was to make sure the front of the ship was perpendicular to the ship's edge -- that is, fly so some cannons are on your left or right, and not down the length of the ship with all the cannons ahead of you. The auto-aiming seemed to work a lot better for me this way.
5 of 6: You can then either turn around and go for another pass, or try having your ship do barrel loops back around to get more of the cannons.
6 of 6: Just remember that there's no penalty for dying except a few studs, and you can't go below 0. There aren't a lot of studs on this screen anyway, so you don't have a whole lot to lose. I was still able to make True Jedi on my first pass at this level from the studs available on the next screens.
