LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints

Once I'm on that third island, how do I exit the screen?

  • 1 of 10: There's a big gate toward the back of the screen.
  • 2 of 10: And just above and to the right of that is a control panel for R2-D2.  Your challenge is getting him up that high.
  • 3 of 10: Fortunately, there are also a couple of red pedestals just to the right of the control panel, each at different heights.
  • 4 of 10: And if Yoda uses the Force on them. they each lower briefly before rising up again.
  • 5 of 10: You need to control the pedestals so that R2 can get from ground level up to the control panel.  This is made a little bit tricky by the fact that you may get interrupted by bats that will want to make you fight them, and it may take you a few tries to get the timing right.  But the idea is relatively straightforward.
  • 6 of 10: First, you need to use the Force on both of the pedestals to lower each one.  Start with the one on the right (the lowest), and then a couple of seconds later, lower the one on the left.  It's important that you do them in this order (right, then left), or else they'll rise at the wrong time, and R2 can never get across.
  • 7 of 10: Then, switch to R2 and have him roll onto the right pedestal.
  • 8 of 10: Wait a few seconds, and that pedestal rises, so it should now be at the same level as the still-lowered pedestal on the left.  Have R2 float over to the left pedestal.  (If that, too, has risen, before R2 can float over there, you need to have R2 come back to the ground, switch to Yoda, and try again.  Remember that you can wait a second or two between Forcing the two pedestals.)
  • 9 of 10: Once R2 is on the second pedestal, wait until that also rises, and he should be able to float over to the control panel.  Use that to open the gate.
  • 10 of 10: If you're having a hard time getting R2 to land on that middle pedestal correctly, look for a shadow that appears when he's over the pedestal.  That indicates where R2 will land -- so you may want to pay more attention to the shadow than whether it "looks" like he's above the pedestal.
