LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
Now we've been thrown into a pit with a big critter!
of 11: You won't be able to fight the Rancor, as it's known, with your normal weapons -- this is a "boss" fight that requires a bit more cunning.
of 11: It may seem odd to you at first, but there are two control panels for the droids -- one for C-3P0 on the left and one for R2-D2 on the right side of the screen.
of 11: Either one of those will open the door on a tunnel and release a guard.
of 11: Those guards seem to be snacks for the beast, so at least he'll be distracted for a little while. Which is exactly what you need, in order to do a little more serious damage.
of 11: The creature will go stand in a corner for his snack break, and just next to either of those corners is a large white box.
of 11: Shoot the box -- you'll need to switch back from the droids to another character -- and the explosion causes some boulders to land on the beast's head and do a little damage. If you shoot the box after the creature is done snacking, he may not get hurt, but don't worry, because another box will come back, and you can try again from the start.
of 11: Repeat this on both sides of the screen -- once on the left with C-3P0 and the white box there, and once on the right with R2-D2 and the box there.
of 11: That still leaves one more heart for you to take away from the beast. Maybe he still needs another treat.
of 11: Have either droid open a tunnel, and this time, the creature will go stand in the center of the screen, underneath that open gate.
of 11: The two switches on either side of the gate suddenly become active now. (They were "burned out" until the creature was in position.)
of 11: This means you can pull the switches, and if you do that before the creature finishes his treat, you'll take care of the creature once and for all.
