LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
I see C-3P0 and R2-D2, but how can I free them?
1 of 5: Once you can see C-3P0, he should be free -- you just need to walk up and control him. That is, get close, and press the correct key to switch characters. (It's the Y key on the Xbox controller, but see your manual for specific help with your game if you're playing another version.)
2 of 5: You may notice that he just so happens to be standing in front of a forcefield, and on the right side of the forcefield is a control panel with his picture. (Well, it's really just a generic protocol droid, but I find it's quicker to type "C-3P0" than "protocol droid", and C-3P0 is the main user of the panels anyway.)
3 of 5: Once you've switched to him, walk up to that panel and press your "use" key. He'll then lower the forcefield and let you reach R2-D2.
4 of 5: Then in the back of the room is a similar sort of control panel with R2-D2's picture. (Or again, a generic astromech's picture, but who's counting?)
5 of 5: Switch to R2-D2 and use that panel to open the door out of this room.
