LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
How can I get across the room with the crane in the center?
of 13: You may notice that there's a rebel ally fighting a couple of Stormtroopers in the middle platform.
of 13: And there's also a switch on his side of the room, but you'll need to help him with those pesky Stormtroopers first.
of 13: You won't be able to do that with your blasters -- for some reason, the auto-aim doesn't seem to target them.
of 13: But there's a nice set of controls for the crane on your side of the room. You can hop in there by pressing your "switch character" key (Y on the Xbox controller, but as always, see your manual or the in-game tutorial for more explicit help). Only the humans -- not the droids -- can use the crane.
of 13: Once you have control of the crane, use your directional controls to move the crane -- and notice the shadow it casts on the ground. Press the "fight" key to lower the crane and pick something up, and press the key again to drop what you're holding.
of 13: Or maybe I should say "whom" you are holding.
of 13: You can pick up both of the Stormtroopers one at a time, and drag them over to the steam pits on either side of the platform where they're standing.
of 13: Get rid of both troopers this way, and the rebel will flip the switch, letting most of your party get to the other side.
of 13: There's another gap on the far side of the room, but either of your human characters can just jump across that, and R2-D2 can float over if you hold down the jump key.
of 13: C-3P0 is the one you'll need on that control panel next to the door.
of 13: You'll have to carry him across.
of 13: Go back and use the crane. C-3P0 will be nice enough to stand on the middle platform once you're in the controls, and you can then pick him up and carry him across.
of 13: Walk up to C-3P0 with another character, switch back to him to open the door, and then continue on to the next room.
