LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints

What is Super Story Mode?

  • 1 of 6: Super Story Mode is just all 6 of the Story mode chapters for an episode strung together.  The puzzles in these levels are exactly the same as regular Story mode, so if you've forgotten how to complete a chapter for whatever reason, go back to the hints for the specific episode and chapter and read those again for the hints to get you through.
  • 2 of 6: The game seems to indicate that you have to complete the whole group in 1 hour and collect 100,000 studs to "win" in Super Story Mode.  Don't worry too much -- beating those goals just gives you an extra cash (stud) bonus at the end.  As long as you manage to complete all of the chapters together in a row, you'll still get the gold brick  for completing Super Story Mode.  (And to get your cash bonuses, that's 100,000 studs total and 1 hour total across all 6 chapters, not per chapter.)
  • 3 of 6: As a general rule, that 1 hour target is a pretty decent indication of how long it will take if you rush through all of the chapters.  You might be able to do things a little faster if you really hurry and already remember how to solve all of the puzzles, or you may take a little bit longer -- especially if you stop to collect extra studs along the way or get caught in a tough fight.
  • 4 of 6: The 100,000 studs are fairly easily to collect even rushing through the episodes, though.  If you have to pick one goal or the other to try for, just try to be fast, and the studs will probably come to you automatically.
  • 5 of 6: A few other things to note about Super Story Mode -- all of the extras that you may have purchased are turned off.  So you can't count on your score multipliers to invincibility extras to make things easier.
  • 6 of 6: You also won't be able to save anywhere in the entire mode, even between chapters.  Super Story Mode also re-plays all of the cut-scenes from regular Story mode, but doesn't count them against your time.  So in reality, you may want to plan on dedicating an hour and half, maybe longer, to run through this.

You can pause, but the only time my game ever crashed on me, it was shortly after I left Super Story Mode paused for a couple of hours and tried to resume.  This happened to me several times, and I lost all the progress I'd made up to that point.  So just in case this happens to you, it may be best if you save a Super Story Mode until you're fairly certain you'll be able to play it from start to finish with at most a couple of short breaks.
