I need help with the Pentagram Gem Puzzle!

  • 1 of 8: This puzzle can be found by looking at the folder Father Holton got from the post office.
  • 2 of 8: The red dots on the pentagram must each contain a gem and, when they do, you should click on the center red dot in the center to finish it.
  • 3 of 8: You will be sliding gems one at a time to adjoining lines.  There are some quirks to the puzzle, though, that make it more difficult.
  • 4 of 8: First let's identify each of the red dots by numbering them.  Mark No. 1 as the top-most center dot.  Then number the rest 2 through 8 going clockwise around the pentagram.
  • 5 of 8: Play with it a little while, and you'll see what I mean about the quirks.  For instance, the dots at spots 3 and 7 won't move along the vertical lines they connect to -- only across horizontally.  But, the top and bottom ones will (6 will move to 8, 1 to 4 and visa-versa).
  • 6 of 8: Since there are 8 gems, you'll be making 8 moves.  There are many ways to get to the solution, but I started at position No. 1 and then slid it to the 4 spot.
  • 7 of 8: My second move was at 2, sliding it to spot 7.  Then I clicked on 8 and then 3.  (At this point, gems appear in spots 4, 7 and 3.)
