What is the Post Office Box number?

  • 1 of 12: Look at the key in inventory.  There are words and numbers on it.
  • 2 of 12: Other than the words "Do Not Copy", there are other words written on the key ... but they're in code!
  • 3 of 12: The numbers on the key are a cryptogram.  The most common type of cryptogram is the substitution of numbers for letters or visa-versa.  Luckily this one is as easy as they come!
  • 4 of 12: 01=A; 02=B and so on, all the way through the 26 letters of the alphabet.
  • 5 of 12: Each line of numbers translates into a word.  26=Z, remember.
  • 6 of 12: So the first line of the numbers (26-05-18-15) translate into the word ...
  • 7 of 12: Z-E-R-O
  • 8 of 12: The second line is 15-14-05 and is the word ...
  • 9 of 12: O-N-E
  • 10 of 12: You should be able to get the last line yourself.
  • 11 of 12: It translates to E-I-G-H-T.  So the answer is ...
  • 12 of 12: The cryptogram solution is 018.  18 is the box number.
