The Lost Crown: A Ghost-Hunting Adventure Hints
At Carrion Woods, how can I find the location of Northfield Church?
of 20: This is your main goal here -- navigating through the maze of trees and passages to find out where the church is located.
of 20: The large millstones that you see dotted around the screens of the wood are there to direct you, and show you the way.
of 20: The most important thing to remember here is what you read in the book about festivities back at the Celtic Corner.
of 20: They said that WINTER was considered to be the start of the year.
of 20: You will notice that there are four millstones on the map, marked 1 to 4 from left to right.
of 20: Remember that the fourth millstone is broken... Robert Karswell got a little over-enthusiastic with his geology, and broke it.
of 20: So, from left to right, the three stones are numbered 1, 2, and 3 on the map.
of 20: You need to rotate the millstones by using the sturdy oak sticks in your inventory.
of 20: You need to rotate them to point out the seasons of the year, from start to end.
of 20: Remembering that it was considered that the year begun in WINTER.
of 20: So rotate the first millstone so that the WINTER pattern is showing (the V and M symbols).
of 20: Now go one screen to the right and you will find the second millstone. This one needs to be rotated to the season that follows WINTER.
of 20: Rotate it so that the SPRING pattern is shown. This is the one made up of several triangles that looks a little like the Triforce.
of 20: Now head right one more screen to the third millstone and rotate it to the next season.
of 20: The SUMMER pattern is a skewed sunbeam motif.
of 20: Once you have done this with all three millstones, you need to "return to the year's beginning," and see what has become apparent.
of 20: So return to the first millstone and look through the stone hole at the top of it.
of 20: With the stones rotated in this pattern, you will be able to see Northfield Church through the holes, and Nigel will add it to his map automatically.
of 20: To get there, you need to head out of the woods via the right-hand exit, then take the path from the bridge leading up and to the right.
of 20: The next chapter will begin once you reach the church.
