The Lost Crown: A Ghost-Hunting Adventure Hints
What do I need to do inside Harbour Cottage before I can sleep?
of 9: Explore the house thoroughly, click everything you can, and generally get a feel for the place.
of 9: The house has six screens -- the living room, the hallway, the kitchen, the bathroom, the staircase, and the bedroom.
of 9: I will provide a list of items on each screen. Some need to be interacted with, some don't, but they are all interesting -- and this is an adventure game, after all :)
of 9: The living room has a telephone, on the cabinet at the rear. Check it, and you will find out there the line has been disconnected. If you try to use the light switch, on the same wall, near the door, you will also realize that the house has no electricity.
of 9: The hallway (take the rear door from the living room), has two doors leading off into the kitchen and bathroom. Also in the hallway, you can notice the windmill motifs on the corners of the doors, as well as a series of pictures on the walls.
of 9: The kitchen has some blue plates on a dresser, and a door you cannot get to at the upper right. Much more interesting, however, is the contents of the drawer of the desk at the rear-right of the screen. You will find two sheets of paper, one containing information about the auction of Harbour Cottage, and the other containing information on a Spanish nobleman from the 1950s who originally owned the house -- Eduardo de Molina. The game won't progress unless you've seen both of these pages.
of 9: The bathroom doesn't contain anything useful, but you can examine the bathtub and mirror if you'd like.
of 9: The staircase (back in the living room), overlooks the living room, and you can see more pictures, another instance of the windmill motif we saw before, and a view of a small boat from the window at the rear.
of 9: The bedroom is far more interesting and I will deal with it in a separate hint since there are a few more things to do here.
