The Lost Crown: A Ghost-Hunting Adventure Hints
How can I open the locked chest in the hideout?
of 11: The chest has a combination lock with roman numerals, from 1 (I) to 9 (IX).
of 11: The code can be found somewhere in the room -- but not by any conventional means.
of 11: The person who put this chest here is undoubtedly long dead -- but perhaps there is some way to ask his spirit for the combination.
of 11: Use your gadgets from Hadden in the room, one of them will provide the solution.
of 11: The EMF meter in particular.
of 11: Pay attention to the readings on the knob at the bottom. The numbers on the knob go from OFF, through 1 to 5.
of 11: Watch that knob for a while and see what is numbers are being received.
of 11: The knob starts at the OFF position, then clicks to 2. Next, to 5, then to 1, and finally 3, before returning to OFF and beginning again.
of 11: This combination is the required code for the lock.
of 11: Enter 2513 into the lock, by hitting II, V, I, and III.
of 11: Be careful to read the whole of the journal inside, and to check out the old bottles of wine that were also inside. It is the journal of Captain Walter Spivey, and tells of the treachery of someone named Gruel, an associate of his. Does that name sound familiar?
