How can I unlock the journal from Gruel's?

  • 1 of 13: If you take the book outside the store and attempt to open it, you will learn that it is locked and you're going to need to recruit the assistance of someone with slightly more dexterous hands than Nigel's to get it open.
  • 2 of 13: Have we found anybody in the town of Saxton who is good at fixing things?
  • 3 of 13: You could try the town's resident handyman.
  • 4 of 13: Head to Bob Tawny's place and give the book to him.
  • 5 of 13: He will be able to open it for you and advises you to return later.
  • 6 of 13: The diversion required to advance game time to "later" will reveal itself when you step outside of Bob's workshop.
  • 7 of 13: You should follow the cat that you see outside Bob's -- it will lead you to a new location, the Celtic Corner store.
  • 8 of 13: After exploring the store thoroughly, head to the past beyond the store, to the left.
  • 9 of 13: If you do, you will reach a path outside of town.
  • 10 of 13: Follow it along and you will reach a small lighthouse.
  • 11 of 13: Examining this lighthouse is the step the game needed you to take to advance time -- and to symbolize this, the Saxton bell will ring to signify that time has advanced to 1 PM.
  • 12 of 13: You can then return to Bob Tawny's workshop and he will give you the book.
  • 13 of 13: You will then automatically return to the sanctity of Harbour Cottage to read it.
