A note about the castle secret stars...
  • There are a total of 15 Secret Stars throughout the game.  Not all of them are available all at once, but rather they become available as you open up new areas of the game such as the basement and the gallery.  It would be best to get each of the special power caps (Wing, Invisibility, Metal) as soon as you can, however, since there are levels which can't be beaten without these special caps.
