How do I get the 3rd star (Metal-Head Mario Can't Move!)?

  • 1 of 11: You must have received the metal cap from one of the Castle Secret Stars to be able to get this star.
  • 2 of 11: You need to find the metal cap first (obvious, thanks to the title of this star).
  • 3 of 11: It is in the green (!) at the beginning of the path that leads down to the lake.
  • 4 of 11: You can now walk on the bottom of the lake.
  • 5 of 11: Quickly, before the cap disappear, activate a (!) switch on the bottom of the lake.
  • 6 of 11: It will move the red wire walls blocking a door on this level.
  • 7 of 11: Go in the room that is now accessible.
  • 8 of 11: Keep walking down the end of the hallway you will now see.
  • 9 of 11: Long jump across the gap.
  • 10 of 11: You can long jump with the "Z" button (consult your manual for more help).
  • 11 of 11: At the end of the hallway is the star.
