Mass Effect Hints
Destroy VI Conduits
of 17: All three of the science stations that you need to infiltrate are identical in layout, and very similar in hazards.
of 17: After entering a station, move forward and open the next door.
of 17: There are no enemies in the first room -- just two locked containers to decrypt open, plus another door.
of 17: Go through the next door and then one more to reach the large room with all the hostile drones in it.
of 17: Hang back and fire on the drones from as far away as you can, taking cover frequently to let health and shields recharge.
of 17: After you pick off all the ones you can from the doorway, make quick runs into the room and then back to lure more drones out of hiding.
of 17: Once they're all destroyed, go to the two southern rooms and look around to see where all the VI conduits are. (Also, check for data ports that you can use to get codex entries and XP.)
of 17: Equip any toxin-resistant armor upgrades you have (like Toxic Seals) on everyone, then get out your assault rifle or shotgun and start blasting the VI conduits.
of 17: Toxic gas will start to slowly vent into the station after you destroy the first conduit, but it won't be able to damage you very fast even if you don't have any toxin-resistant armor upgrades installed. Just make sure you don't get damaged by conduits exploding.
of 17: Go around and quickly destroy all eight VI conduits in order to stop the toxic gas and finish the station.
of 17: Return to the lunar surface and drive over to another building and enter it.
of 17: The second one you do will be identical to the first except that some of the drones in the big room fire super-powerful rockets which you will *have* to dodge every time to avoid dying.
of 17: Also, the VI conduits will make themselves pains by erecting kinetic barriers in addition to releasing toxic gas after you destroy the first one. Shoot the barriers until they disappear, then blast the conduits as before.
of 17: Blow away door-blocking kinetic barriers on your way out, then go enter the third and final science station.
of 17: It ups the ante by erecting kinetic barriers across doorways and conduits from the start, having more of the powerful rocket drones in the big room, and spawning a few new drones after you destroy the first conduit.
of 17: As soon as the last of the VI conduits is destroyed, you'll get to choose your specialization class.
of 17: Whichever choice you make will cause your current class talent to be replaced with the new one, with all points carried over. The new class talent will give all the bonuses of the old one, plus several new bonuses. Put some more points into it as soon as you can!
