Mass Effect Hints

Destroy Rachni Base

  • 1 of 12: Disconnect the Mako from the turrets' generator if it's hooked up, then get in and drive over to the rachni-infested mine that's now marked on the area map.
  • 2 of 12: Park next to the mine entrance structure, then get out and run up the ramp to find the entrance console.
  • 3 of 12: Go down the first tunnel and open a door to find a small cave room with a lootable item container and another door.
  • 4 of 12: Past the next tunnel, you'll come to the main cave room, which is infested with rachni.
  • 5 of 12: They start out inside their little mounds, like a bunch of ground hogs, and come scurrying out when you approach.
  • 6 of 12: TIP: Send your squad ahead to provoke rachni, then recall them and retreat as far as you have to in order to blast the rachni without coming into their melee range.
  • 7 of 12: Clear out the main cavern a bit at a time, then search it for item containers and leftover rachni.
  • 8 of 12: At the NE end of the cavern are two short tunnels that lead to rooms.
  • 9 of 12: Each of the two rooms has rachni burrows in it, and each burrow set unleashes several rachni soldiers plus one extra-powerful brood warrior.
  • 10 of 12: Be sure to retreat as soon as the rachni start appearing, and take down the brood warrior as soon as you can.
  • 11 of 12: When they're all down, search the room for a locked item container, then move on to the other room, which works just the same.
  • 12 of 12: After the last of the rachni go down, this assignment will be completed.
