Mass Effect 2 Hints
Use Omega-4 Relay.
1 of 8: The first thing you should do is go to Deck 3 and activate the geth that's in the AI core area.
2 of 8: Talk to it to learn the very interesting fact that the geth who support the reapers (who they call the "old machines") are considered heretics, and the rest of the geth oppose them.
3 of 8: After the geth is named Legion, you'll get the "Legion: A House Divided" mission. You don't technically have to do it, but you definitely should, since it's Legion's loyalty mission.
4 of 8: Next, go around and do any optional assignments you haven't finished yet, plus any research projects you still want to do.
5 of 8: Make sure you've researched all three of the important Normandy ship upgrades: Heavy Ship Armor, Thanix Cannon, and Multicore Shielding. (See the Normandy Upgrades list.)
6 of 8: When you're ready, travel to the Omega Nebula cluster and make a regular save before going into orbit around the Omega 4 relay.
7 of 8: Choose to enter the relay, and confirm with EDI that you're ready to go.
8 of 8: After a long series of cut-scenes, you'll get the squad selection screen. Choose a couple of heavy hitters like Garrus and Grunt, since you'll soon be fighting a heavily armored foe.
