Reaper-Area Combat Tips

  • 1 of 8: Run to the left to find cover behind a low wall on a lower floor, then look to the right and start shooting at the collectors as their platform docks.
  • 2 of 8: After you finish all of them off, look to the reaper to see that its four feeding tubes are now exposed.
  • 3 of 8: Immediately start blasting one of them. You could use heavy weapon ammo, but I advise you to save it for later. The sniper rifle is a good weapon to use for tube-shooting, as is the assault rifle.
  • 4 of 8: NOTE: If you don't destroy a tube fast enough, the reaper will hit you with a powerful blast, and the tubes' shields will slide back into place without any of them being destroyed. This doesn't make winning impossible, but it does prolong the process. If you need to go hunting for thermal clips, wait until almost all of the collectors on a platform are dead, then hurry!
  • 5 of 8: A second collector platform will be arriving on your side of the area as soon as a tube is destroyed (or if you get blasted because none got destroyed).
  • 6 of 8: As before, blast all of the collectors, then look up to see that the remaining feeding tubes are exposed, allowing you to shatter another one.
  • 7 of 8: Keep that up until all four tubes are destroyed and the "human reaper" falls into the abyss.
  • 8 of 8: GLITCH NOTE: After you destroy three tubes, the shield over the final one may never reopen. If this happens, you'll have to restore the autosave and do this whole combat over again, hoping the glitch won't happen again.
