Mass Effect 2 Hints
Which class should I choose?
1 of 6: As in the original Mass Effect, there are six classes, three of which are "pure" classes, and three of which are "mixed" classes.
2 of 6: As before, soldiers get combat powers and can use almost all weapon types, engineers get tech powers, and adepts get biotic powers.
3 of 6: The three mixed classes are equivalent to multiclassed characters in fantasy RPGs. Each one has some but not all of the powers and weapon/ammo training of two pure classes, plus one special power that neither of the two pure classes have.
4 of 6: Specifically, infiltrators are soldier/engineers with the special Tactical Cloak power, sentinels are engineer/adepts with the special Tech Armor power, and vanguards are soldier/adepts with the special Charge power.
5 of 6: NOTE: If you've already finished playing through Mass Effect 2 once, you'll get to pick a bonus power from a list that's based on the loyalty achievements you've gotten. (You'll also get +25% XP for all mission and assignment completions, 200,000 credits, and 50,000 of each type of minable element.)
6 of 6: You should choose the soldier class if none of the others particularly appeal to you, or if you're wanting to make the game's combats as easy to survive as possible only using basic combat tactics.
