Mass Effect 2 Hints

Hold the Fort.

  • 1 of 7: This is another objective where you start off in the middle of a combat, and need to keep Garrus as healthy as you can.
  • 2 of 7: Use the railing you start out next to for cover while shooting down the first several mechs that appear on the lower floor, then break cover long enough to run over to the nearby couch and pick up the Vindicator Battle Rifle. If you run around some more, you can find some thermal clips, a med kit, and a footlocker to search for credits.
  • 3 of 7: Don't stay away from your railing vantage point for too long, though, or you may have to go over to the door you entered the room through and shoot down some enemies that managed to make it up the stairs.
  • 4 of 7: TIP: If you saved that bomb from earlier, as I advised, you can shoot it when several enemies are near it to kill them all in one shot. (Note that you'll have to be on or near the stairs to see the bomb.)
  • 5 of 7: After they're all dead, a YMIR mech will be delivered in a cut-scene. I sure hope you took my advice on sabotaging it earlier. If so, just wait and watch as it turns and fires on the next wave of enemies to come over the barricade.
  • 6 of 7: NOTE: If you give the mech enough firing support so that it lasts awhile, it'll turn on you. It's best to let it go down before doing any more shooting.
  • 7 of 7: Eventually, Jaroth will come in and join the fight. Damage him as much as you can while he's on the bridge, then turn and take him down on or near the stairs.
