Mass Effect 3 Hints

Defeat Kai Leng.

  • 1 of 9: When you regain control, back quickly away from Kai Leng while shooting him. If he grabs hold of you, you'll need to tap the "Melee" key rapidly to break free (just like with husks that grab you).
  • 2 of 9: Use lots of sprinting and combat rolls to avoid Leng's attacks while you blast him with your best close-range damage weapon and offensive powers.
  • 3 of 9: Keep a close eye on your squad display, and use your First Aid power every time one of your squad members goes down. You'll want them both up and fighting the whole time to make things easier for you.
  • 4 of 9: When Leng takes a certain amount of damage, he'll do a big sizzly-blast thing and become temporarily immobile and invincible. Don't bother attacking him during that phase, but instead focus your fire on the Cerberus troopers who drop in.
  • 5 of 9: The first trooper batch will just have weak assault troopers. Finish them off quickly so you can turn your full attention to Leng when he starts moving again.
  • 6 of 9: After you deal him another good chunk of damage, he'll repeat the process. Note that this batch of troopers will include a nemesis sniper, so target him first.
  • 7 of 9: After Leng's third "stop, regenerate, and call in troopers" phase (which will include some phantoms), he'll be killable. Try to finish off his support troops first, then blow him away once and for all.
  • 8 of 9: Well, almost. In the following cut-scene, he'll stagger to his feet and try to sneak up behind you. Watch for a renegade interrupt that'll give you a very satisfying kill.
  • 9 of 9: During the talk with the Prothean VI, you'll get another renegade interrupt. If you skip it, you'll soon get a paragon interrupt. In any case, the final mission, "Priority: Earth," starts next.
