A Note About These Hints
Unlike previous games in the series, Mass Effect 3 classifies everything as missions, with no separate "assignment" category for the optional ones. In these hints, I put all of the required missions in the "Priority Missions" section, and all the optional missions into sections called "N7 Missions," "Side Missions," and "Hub Missions."
As for objectives, only missions that don't take place in a hub area (such as the Citadel) will have them. To learn what your current objective is (if you have one), press the "Navigational Assistance" key. Doing that in a hub area will just bring up the area map, but doing it elsewhere will either display an objective name in the middle of the screen or bring up an arrow pointing you to your next target. Whenever you have a target rather than an actual objective, the hints will consider the target to be your objective.
Most of the priority missions have a question about what all optional things can be done before starting on the mission. Each one assumes you've already done all the optional things available previously. If you haven't, then check the optionals listed for missions you've already completed to see if there are any you missed. Hopefully, they'll still be available. Also note that available optionals sometimes vary according to certain factors, like whether or not you import a save, which doctor you recruit for the Normandy, which Mass Effect 1 squad member (Kaidan or Ashley) is still alive, etc.
