What all optional things can I do before starting this mission?
1 of 3: The first thing to do is take a brief tour of the rest of the Normandy.
2 of 3: After that, use the galaxy map to travel around to all the currently available clusters and scan their systems for assets. See the Galaxy Travel Tips for some general asset-finding tips.
3 of 3: When you're done with that, go use the "Intel Terminal" in Liara's room on deck 3 to get a couple of special upgrades, then go do the "N7: Cerberus Lab" mission if you haven't already.
