The Messenger Hints
Combining objects
Many objects may be combined with other objects, to produce something that is necessary for progressing in the game. This is done on the inventory screen, using the "link" and "unlink" icons to combine and uncombine objects, respectively.
As you select objects from the inventory screen, always be sure to note whether the "combine" icon is enabled (it will be "lighted"). If it is, then it is almost certain that the selected object will need to be combined with some other object in order to perform a task somewhere within the game.
