What do the toilet cards mean about "first letter" and so on?
This is a type of riddle composed of lots of little riddles. The entire riddle has a one-word answer; each card gives you one letter of that answer. On each of the cards, the answers to the three little riddles will all start with the same letter, and that letter goes into its place in the larger answer. For example, suppose the three little riddles were:
-- Bird that quacks
-- Homer's favorite food
-- Twelve of a kind
In that case, the answers would be duck, doughnuts, and dozen, and the letter is D. Get it?
