Midnight Nowhere Hints
Is this game okay for my kids?
I'd say no, not if they're under about 16 or so, though you'll have to be the judge for your own kids.
-- Sexual content is medium high. There's a pretty fair amount of extreme cussing, many *many* of pictures of naked women, and a number of sex jokes.
-- Violence is moderately low. There are no monsters jumping out at you, you can't die or kill anyone, and the only time you get to use a gun is to shoot out a locked door. On the other hand, there are nastily-slaughtered bodies littering the landscape wherever you go, with lots of blood and/or guts. The creep-out factor is pretty high, though I admit I'm easily spooked.
-- The puzzles are pretty hard, made more so by the usual translation difficulties and cultural road bumps you encounter when you transfer a Russian game to a Western audience. This is a brain game, not a reflex or hand-eye coordination game.
So all in all, I'd take the Mature rating seriously. I'd generally gauge the game to be geared to late teens/early twenties and up, based on the themes, the complexity of the puzzles, and the lack of timed (i.e., reflex-based) puzzles.
