Mission Critical Hints

How do I get inside the metal tower?

  • 1 of 19: Your problem is that it's covered with ice.
  • 2 of 19: Fortunately, ice melts.
  • 3 of 19: All you need to do is heat up the ice.
  • 4 of 19: Climb the tower as much as you can, and when you're on the tower, you'll be able to do something about the ice.
  • 5 of 19: Look for something hot.
  • 6 of 19: How about that cutting torch?
  • 7 of 19: You should have the components you need to put it together (if you haven't already done so).  The torch just needs oxygen and acetylene.
  • 8 of 19: Any oxygen will do.
  • 9 of 19: Take an oxygen tank out of the shuttle and hook it and the acetylene tank up to the torch.  Ignite the torch and use it on the ice.
  • 10 of 19: Well, that didn't quite melt all the ice away.  But you still can do something about the ice.
  • 11 of 19: Fire isn't powerful enough.
  • 12 of 19: But an explosion would be.
  • 13 of 19: The antimatter bomb from the Lexington should help you here.
  • 14 of 19: And the hole that you cut in the ice is just the right size for the bomb.
  • 15 of 19: Of course, the bomb isn't going to go off unless you tell it to.
  • 16 of 19: Set the bomb to a reasonable time (15 minutes or so), arm it, and put it in the hole.
  • 17 of 19: Now, get out of there as fast as you can.
  • 18 of 19: I'd recommend going back to the shuttle and waiting (hit the Z key to wait).
  • 19 of 19: Once the bomb has gone off, you can enter the tower.
