Mission Critical Hints
How can I get to Engineering?
of 14: Well, you're not going to be able to use the elevator to reach the engineering deck because of the coolant fluid leaks.
of 14: But you can always use the tunnels in the reactor level to get to Engineering the long way.
of 14: Of course, with all that contamination, I wouldn't recommend walking through the tunnels without taking a few precautions.
of 14: Like finding some way to tell which tunnels are irradiated.
of 14: Look for a standard tool for the task.
of 14: There's a Geiger counter in a cabinet in the science lab on Deck 5. Turn it on when you go down to the reactor level to watch for radiation.
of 14: You know that the only tunnel above the red level is not contaminated, so any readings you get on that level mean that the tunnels below you are contaminated.
of 14: To find a safe way down, all you have to do is keep a record of which tunnels are and are not contaminated.
of 14: It's safe to walk around within each level, since the coolant leaks are confined to the tunnels. Read ahead if you want to know how to get down to Engineering.
of 14: Take tunnel B or C from the red level down to the orange level.
