Mysterious Journey II Hints

Gelleas Below: How do I cross the uneven floor room?

  • 1 of 9: Your goal is to cross the uneven floor to the passage on the other side of the room.  You can only walk out onto the sections that are even with, or not more than one level (up or down) away from, the level you are currently on.
  • 2 of 9: You can change the height of the different sections of floor by using either of the control panels.  It doesn't matter which control panel you use -- both of them work exactly the same.
  • 3 of 9: The large button in the middle is the reset button -- which puts the sections of floor back to their starting positions.  Each of the other six buttons moves several different sections of floor at the same time.
  • 4 of 9: Note that you can only move the sections up.  Only after they reach their maximum height will they return to their lowest level.
  • 5 of 9: You can check on your progress by walking into one of the side passages.  (There are five passages -- in order they are "view room"; "control room"; "entrance"; "control room"; and "view room".)
  • 6 of 9: The game helps you to determine when you can cross, by lighting the way.  Starting at the entrance to this room, lights will be turned on around the different sections of the floor every time an adjacent section is no more than one higher or one lower.
  • 7 of 9: When the lights are list all the way to the exit on the far side of the room, it should be possible to cross the room -- even if it means taking a rather meandering path around the room to do so.  When you have the floor set correctly, the game will let you know by automatically stopping the puzzle.
  • 8 of 9: If you need an exact solution, first, be sure to press the large button in the middle to reset to the starting configuration.
  • 9 of 9: Numbering the buttons from left to right -- press button number 4 three times (for a puzzle so frustrating, it's actually pretty easy, eh?)
