Mysterious Journey II Hints
How do I open the barred door?
of 17: You won't be able to open the barred door until you've solved all the puzzles in the Ansala area.
of 17: You can travel to the barred door by riding the airship. Set the controls by pressing the button at the one o'clock position.
of 17: From the airship, go up the ramp. When the path splits, keep to the right; at the next fork go to the left; then look for a path to the right.
of 17: You won't find a key to open the door -- and the controls for the door are not really obvious.
of 17: You will need to ride the airship again. There are three stops that have similar features -- and even though you couldn't do anything at those stops before, you should be able to now.
of 17: You can now interact with the shell-like structures. The three structures can be accessed from the airship using the buttons at the five o'clock, seven o'clock, and eleven o'clock positions.
of 17: Each of the shells can open one of the bars over the door. Note that each shell controls a specific bar.
of 17: Your goal (obviously) is to get all three bars open at the same time -- but they keep closing again by themselves, after a brief delay.
of 17: The shells are actually timers, and when one of them runs out of time, the bar returns to its original position, once again blocking access to the door.
of 17: You'll have to be quick to get to all three bars and open then, and get through the door, before all the timers run out.
of 17: Don't try to cut down on your traveling time on the airship -- traveling time doesn't seem to count toward the amount of time remaining on the timers.
of 17: Each timer is actually set to a different amount of time.
of 17: Figure out which one is the slowest, and which is the fastest, and you'll know which one to click on first and last.
of 17: The top bar should be first, followed by the middle one, and the bottom one last.
of 17: The top bar is accessible by setting the airship controls to the setting at the seven o'clock position.
of 17: The center bar is accessible by setting the airship controls to the five o'clock position.
of 17: The bottom bar is accessible by setting the airship controls to the eleven o'clock position.
