Mysterious Journey II Hints

How should I make a map?

  • 1 of 6: Start with a six by seven grid, allowing roughly an inch per square.  Each of the squares will represent one pod and its location in the room.
  • 2 of 6: Note on the map where the eye is located on the wall.  Also, make note of the location of the "starting" pod -- the one that creates the green energy when the switch is on.
  • 3 of 6: Now, go through the room, looking at each pod, making note of what is on all four sides of each pod.  Turning each pod will be necessary for the ones along the outside of the room (and it may also be helpful to turn the pods on the inside of the room as well, if that is easier than walking around them).
  • 4 of 6: You can draw the pods on the map, marking what is on each side of each pod.  Or, you can skip drawing the pods and just use the four sides of each square to note what is on each side of the pod.
  • 5 of 6: If, for example, you've walked around one of the pods to find that it has two projectors, one receiver, and one blank side, you'll need to mark on the map the location of each important feature, in the same order it is found on the pod.  You might, for example, mark a "P" near the top of the square; an "R" on the right side; and a "P" near the bottom of the square.  The blank side (in this example, it's on the left) can stay blank on the map to indicate that there was neither a projector nor a receiver on that side.
  • 6 of 6: Your map is complete when every pod is accurately represented on the map.
