Mysterious Journey II Hints
How do I cross the foggy area?
of 10: Have you tried to walk out in it? Don't worry, you won't die if you try and you can easily return to the higher path by climbing up the ramp again.
of 10: When you walk out into the fog, you will safely drop down to a platform under it. Make sure to look up at the fog (from underneath) and pay attention to what you see. You may want to do this a few times to figure out what's going on.
of 10: There actually is a path under the fog -- but if you slip off the path and fall through the fog, the path dissolves and is re-built in a new pattern. The paths regenerate at random, so there is no way to provide an exact, step-by-step solution.
of 10: Your goal is to travel across the fog, using the path, to get to the exit on the opposite side.
of 10: If you feel that a particular path seems too treacherous to travel, drop through the fog again. It may take a few tries until a simpler one is available. Once you find one you'd like to try -- save your game. That way, if you fall through the fog, you can return to your saved game and try the same maze again.
of 10: You'll need to map the path onto paper -- by looking at it from underneath. Note that the path is broken into individual, equally-sized squares. (Graph-paper can be extremely helpful here.)
of 10: When you are ready to step out into the fog, take a moment to look around the foggy area. Note that the fog is in a rectangular shape. You should also see some light poles placed at regular intervals around the perimeter of the fog. You can use your placement, in relation to the light poles, to gauge which direction to travel. It can also be helpful (to be sure you're traveling in a straight line) to make sure the far edge of the fog is perfectly flat (not tilting to the left or right -- which would indicate that you're traveling at an angle).
of 10: One step does not necessarily equal one square on the walkway grid. As you move into the fog, listen for audible clues.
of 10: Each square of the path squeaks or groans once when you step on it. By counting the squeaks and groans, you should be able to estimate how far you've traveled on the path.
of 10: If you are really having problems with this puzzle, you can try to save the game after traveling each straight line on your map -- but if you decide to do this, make sure you also mark down on your map where each game save was made.
