Might and Magic VI Hints

Find the Skull of Ethric the Mad

  • 1 of 12: Reward: 7,500 GP and 15,000 XP.
  • 2 of 12: Gabriel Cartman, on the west side of Free Haven, will give you this quest.
  • 3 of 12: You will need to head to Ethric's tomb, which is south of the river running through Free Haven, and to the west.
  • 4 of 12: There are three platforms in the first room of the tomb, that will raise when you step on them.  They will also reset themselves after you leave the Tomb, or if you step off of them and then back on.
  • 5 of 12: Take the western most platform first.  This will lead to a door you can open.
  • 6 of 12: Then, press the switch behind that door, to open the eastern door.
  • 7 of 12: Finally, press the switch to the east, to open the door to the center.
  • 8 of 12: Keep heading to the north, and then turn east.  This should take you into a room with liches.
  • 9 of 12: Kill them, and find a button that will open the chamber to the west.
  • 10 of 12: Ethric is one of the Power Liches in here.  Kill him, and then click on his body for his skull.
  • 11 of 12: Note that Power Liches can be pretty tough, especially if you try to tackle this quest at too early of a level.
  • 12 of 12: But they also tend to be chicken -- they like hiding behind corners.  If they are standing on the edge of a corner, so that you can see part of them, odds are, they can't cast spells at you, but you can fight them.  Use this fact to your advantage when fighting them.
