Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor Hints
Where can I find the trumpet and what should I do with it?
of 8: A messenger will give you this quest once you enter the Tularean Forest at a certain point in the game. Note that you will only get this quest about a month or two after you have had your castle repaired and have returned to it. I'm not sure exactly what the timeframe is, but once you've fixed your castle, keep checking back in the Tularean Forest from time to time if you want this quest. The quest also will disappear after a time -- certainly before the arbiter dies.
of 8: The messenger will direct you to retrieve a lost trumpet from outside the Tularean Forest and return it to Queen Catherine.
of 8: But you don't have to give the trumpet to Catherine. It's important enough to the war that you should decide what to do with it yourself.
of 8: Once you have been given the quest, you can find a chest that contains the trumpet just outside the Tularean Caves. The caves and the chest are located approximately at (-13798, 19696) in the Tularean Forest. You will also see a battle between human and elven soldiers near the chest, but you do not need to fight either side. The chest and battle do not appear until you have the quest, and if you let too much time lapse, they may once again vanish, so take care of this quest immediately upon receiving it.
of 8: You have three options once you retrieve the trumpet. Consider the value of the trumpet before deciding what to do with it.
of 8: You can give it to Queen Catherine as requested for 10,000 XP and a gold reward.
of 8: Or you can give it to King Parson of the elves for the same bonus.
of 8: Or, you can protect Harmondale's independence, and return the trumpet to the arbiter in Harmondale. He won't give you any gold, but you do get 12,500 XP and the satisfaction of having protected your own lands.
