How do I get through the northern door in the Walls of Mist?

  • 1 of 7: Notice that there are three buttons on pillars with locks to the north side of the main room in the Walls of Mist.
  • 2 of 7: Once you find the keys to go in each of these pillars and press the buttons, the door to the north will open up.
  • 3 of 7: Also notice that there are three archways in the center of the main room.
  • 4 of 7: Each of these archways is a teleporter that will take you to another section of the Walls of Mist.  For some reason, I wasn't always teleported when I walked through an arch, but if I walked through the arch a couple of times, I eventually was teleported.
  • 5 of 7: Each of those three sections has one of the keys for the pedestals.  The keys are also located in the same "order" as the pedestals -- for example, the west arch leads you to the key for the west pillar.
  • 6 of 7: Once you have all three keys, you can walk up to the pillars and click on them (or press the spacebar) when the character who has the appropriate key in his/her inventory is active.  I'd recommend against trying to put the key in the lock, since more often than not, I ended up throwing the key on the floor instead of unlocking the pillar.  Also, note that you should not use any of the keys until you have all three in your inventory, since if you use a key and leave the Walls of Mist, the pillar will relock when you come back to the Walls.  The key does not vanish if you keep in inventory, though.
  • 7 of 7: After you've unlocked all of the pillars, a door to the north will open up.
