Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor Hints
How should I allocate my skill points?
1 of 3: Once you've picked your skills for your characters, you should keep in mind that it costs increasingly more skill points to add a level to a particular skill. That is, it takes 2 points to go from level 1 to 2, 3 points to go from 2 to 3, and so on.
2 of 3: But the benefit that an extra level gives you, generally speaking, does not increase at higher levels. That is, your character gets the same benefits by going from level 1 to level 2, as he/she does by going from level 2 to 3.
3 of 3: The one difference comes in when you go from Beginner to Expert status, etc. You can find out precisely what the bonuses are from an increase in status by right-clicking on the skill name from the character stats screen. In many cases, the higher status will double or triple the effect from your skill level or even give you 100% success at Grand Master.
For spells, you will either need to right-click on the spell name, or if you don't have the spell, consult your manual. In general, expect either stronger spells or an improved recovery time.
